To get there first get to the Lee Valley Ice Centre in Walthamstow.
To the left of the entrance a path to the left leads towards the marshes.
Continue past the bridge on the left....
...and sign on the right....
...until you get to this board walked path on the right. Follow the boardwalk to the end.
Keep following the path straight across from the board walk.
There is a short climb up onto a much wider path, turn left.
Under the railway bridge take the less well used path to the left.
This area is shown below. It is a triangle bordered by railway tracks on all sides.

The area is a mass of brambles, crossed by numerous paths. If you wander for a while you will find one of the many patches of ground that may be used for sunbathing. It would be best to find one as secluded as possible, and as I said before be prepared to cover up quickly.

I've been there a couple of times recently to get naked and sunbath. I'm gay so the cruising guys don't bother me. There are plenty of nooks and crannies where you can strip off and be undisturbed. I cycled there which is easier if you go up the path where the riding school is

ReplyDeleteThis has been closed for three years now. Network rail manages this triangle of land. In 2015 some Romanians took advantage of its seclusion and set up a large campsite. Some idiot reported them and the authorities not only cleared them out but closed it down to stop others doing the same. Also there had been persistent complaints from rail passengers who could see naked guys cruising or sunbathing. A great loss. I loved it here in the summer.

DeleteThis place is open I went yesterday with my friends. The new area is above the triangle. Its smaller but myself and my friends love it here. When its Sunny it is very busy.... We had a great time.

ReplyDeleteThere is still a nice cruising area (where boys walk around naked, sunbathing) just above the triangle. Reach the point 51.572183, -0.048143 (on Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/DV58EMVwi7uS3KVPA) and your right hand side you will find a crack in the bushes - pass through (be careful as it's very steep) and keep walking straight ahead until you reach the tracks again. By that point you should start noticing some fellas missing their clothes.
